Oil infusions

On our window sill I keep my olive oil macerats. I use them for things like salves, lip balm, crèmes, herbal soap and for cooking.

Currently macerating (if that is indeed an English word): St. Johnsworth, plantane, field horse tail, sweet woodruff, rosemary, rose petals & rose hips, and a mix of nettle, horse tail & plantane for my three herbs soap.

Rosemary soap

Oils: olive (rosemary infused), coconut, palm, sesame, wheat germ, castor
Liquid: strong brewed rosemary tea
Additives: green clay, spirulina
Scent: essentials oils rosemary and Chinese mint

The color didn't turn out as green as I hoped. These pictures do not represent the color very well, they are slightly greener than they look.

Mini soap and embelishments

A bowl full of mini soaps.

And embelishments waiting to be used.

Leaves

Butterflies

Hearts

Tomato soap

Oils: olive (calendula macarat), coconut, palm, sesame, castor, wheat germ
Liquid: water
Additives: tomato puree, red clay powder, thyme leaves
Scent: tomato leaf fragrance oil

Tomatoes contain lycopene which is known to be an antioxidant. It is said to reduce large pores and acne and clear up dull skin. I don't know if it works like that in soap but the color sure is nice!

Goat milk & honey soap

Oils: olive, coconut, palm, wheat germ, hemp, castor
Liquid: raw goat milk
Additives: white clay powder, yellow clay powder, honey, TD
Perfume oils: apple blossom and a touch of lemon

My first honey soap failed because I tried to speed up the curing by placing it in the oven. It overheated and got holes. The colors were really nice though and it's still good soap.

This time I put my honey soap in the freezer for 22 hours to prevent gelling. I was doubting wether to put it in the fridge afterwards to let it warm up slowly but decided to risk it and keep it at room temperature afterwards. The soap oozed some water which later was either evaporated and/or re-absorbed. The colors aren't as bright as the gelled honey soap.

It smells nice although I do prefer to use EO's myself for scenting my soap. You never know what they put in those PO's.

Coffee soap

Oils: olive, coconut, palm, wheat germ, castor
Liquid: strong brewed coffee
Additives: white clay powder, instant esspresso powder, TD
Perfume oils: coffee and vanilla

When I took it out of the mold I wasn't too happy. I tried swirling it but the coffee PO made it harden really fast. This didn't look very promising. But they turned out alright. I should really mix the TD better though.

Echinacea soap

Oils: olive infused with echinacea, coconut, palm, hemp, wheat germ, castor
Liquid: extra strong echinacea tea
Additives: white clay powder, alkanet powder, TD
Essential oils: lemon grass and juniper
